Hello! My name is Syd Fye, and I am a UNE Class of 2029 student! I was born and raised in Concord, NH, but found my way to the lovely state of Maine! I am an English major, working on adding a minor in Communications.

Writing has always been a passion of mine, and I knew I wanted to get out of my home state to pursue that. UNE was the perfect distance away, and some research revealed that the tight-knit English community provides lots of opportunities and guidance. UNE was perfect for my education, but I was also lucky enough to be offered a spot on the Nor’Easter’s varsity volleyball team. Between class and volleyball, I am very busy but fulfilled thus far.

Being from New Hampshire, I’ve grown up with all things outdoors, most of which are large hobbies of mine. My friends would call me an old soul, as I love oldies music, movies, and styles! Both of these aspects are helpful inspirations to my writing, and will often be included one way or another.

My career goals include becoming a novel editor for a major publication, while also producing a novel (or novels) of my own! My portfolio consists of all things English, writing, and reporting, so welcome!
